Had a day off yesterday...the first day of the English school holiday. Of course our children had already been off for a few days as the school closed early so they could do some more building work to it.
Met up with wonderful Ali and her lovely daughter Jess. Ali, being a member of the National Trust knows loads of little hidden gems in the gorgeous Northamptonshire countryside.
She took us to a disused railway tunnel close to Kelmarsh.
Ok, the tunnel wasn't beautiful but the kids had a great time. I felt a bit scared and taken back to the days when me, Anna, Stefan, Louise and the whole gang watch splatter movie after splatter movie during the summer holidays.
It was a lovely setting but in the tunnel there were some scary blocked up hiding holes.
Ali and I chatted while the children were playing in the woods and finding lots of, I guess sticks and leaves, they could play with.
A great day out and the kids really loved it. And I got to spend some time with my great friend Ali.
