Journey to Sweden

Well it did seem like a never ending task and if the truth be told I think that I need to load the car like this picture to get all the other stuff over there.

Took a Van over (a big one) but because I'm such a disorganised dude there are loads of things that I forgot to take :(

The drive over I did with mama Balthazar It was great to have company and the fried chicken and bakes sure went down well on the journey over there.

27 hours it took door to door, I must say we were lucky with all the connections. We left sunny Northampton at 16:00hrs and just made the 20:00hrs Euro tunnel.

Then I took the challenge of driving for another 7 hours until we had no choice but to stop and sleep for 3 in Denmark. It was only 3 hours, but that was all I needed I was too excited to spend time in a truck stop, I wanted to check out the new flat, and see my beautiful family again.

Tunnel vision at Kelmarsh

Had a day off yesterday...
the first day of the English school holiday. Of course our children had already been off for a few days as the school closed early so they could do some more building work to it.

Met up with wonderful Ali and her lovely daughter Jess. Ali, being a member of the National Trust knows loads of little hidden gems in the gorgeous Northamptonshire countryside.

She took us to a disused railway tunnel close to Kelmarsh.
Ok, the tunnel wasn't beautiful but the kids had a great time. I felt a bit scared and taken back to the days when me, Anna, Stefan, Louise and the whole gang watch splatter movie after splatter movie during the summer holidays.

It was a lovely setting but in the tunnel there were some scary blocked up hiding holes.

Ali and I chatted while the children were playing in the woods and finding lots of, I guess sticks and leaves, they could play with.

A great day out and the kids really loved it. And I got to spend some time with my great friend Ali.

On your skates

Hejsan, had a day off form work yesterday ...

Didn't really managed to get a minute though,
Went to the hospital with Kyle to check out his foot.

He was rather excited as you get one of them buzzers that goes off when it's your turn.
We were waiting for about 20 min for our set appointment and then the doctor came in to ask;

"Is it hurting?"
"Can you walk for me!"

and then he touched the foot and discharged us. A bit of 'wasting time' but then again we had a great experience with the NHS, National Health Service.

Went to Kyle's school as he is Star of the week in his class. I stayed the afternoon and had to sit in front of 28 googley eyed children who asked about Sweden and what me and Kyle got up to at home.

Kyle explained that he doesn't play with me at home (heartbroken me) and that his Mormor and Morfar has got a pool in Sweden in a big garden.

But the best thing, and biggest laughs was when he told everyone that he plays football with Grandad and that he can shoot it really high in the air and then stop the bounce with his bottom.
Very funny.

I also confused all the children by speaking Swedish. Oh and I also got offered a job as I was sooo good with the children... But the day wasn't over; got home, cooked dinner and then we got our skates on and went to the park.

Leah was on her roller skates and Kyle on his new roller blades. Myself, I was in my Ecco shoes. Kyle played football with his friend from school, Hayden, who turned up and Leah found a friend too.

When we got home I wanted to get them to bed and sleeping early so I laid down next to Kyle until Leah happened to bang her head on the headboard. I changed bed and made sure Leah was fine - and then I fell asleep...

Not a bad day for Thursday day off. Oh and I also managed 4 loads of washing AND changing the beds. Sometimes, just sometimes I get things done.
